Cheque presentation to Temple Street Children's Hospital
Ollie Cahill and Craig Hyland presented a cheque to Temple Street Children’s Hospital following fundraising activities. Monies were raised through a charity run and donations at the recent player of the year awards ceremony.
Craig Hyland organised the charity run as part of his course work for his Sports Management Degree through FIFPro in conjunction with UCN in Denmark. Over €5,000 was raised as current and former League of Ireland players, along with referees and friends of our Association, took part in a 5k charity run on a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning on the day of the FAI Cup Final on Sunday 8 November. The run started along the canal in Crumlin and finished at the Aviva Stadium.
Another €1,700 was raised two weeks later at the PFA Ireland awards ceremony at the Gibson Hotel when nominees and guests donated towards a raffle, including our special guests, Ireland Assistant Manager Roy Keane and former Ireland rugby captain Brian O’Driscoll.
Further monies were donated online directly to the hospital’s fundraising account.
We would like to thank everyone who donated; all monies raised will go towards the neurological unit at Temple Street Children's Hospital.
